Just backing up what Angela said, since I work in Farmingdale. Parking regulations in Farmingdale's municipal lots are enforced aggressively, especially during the day, by the village's Code Enforcement officers. It's pretty much all they do, so they don't miss much. There are three-hour spots where anyone can park for that amount of time, but there are also 12-hour spots which require a village permit. Be careful not to park in those.

And a couple of related points: they will ticket you for backing into a space (there are posted "Head-in Parking Only" signs), and they will ticket you if your state registration or inspection stickers are expired... or not properly attached. Again, a bigger concern during the day, but they're occasionally out into the evening.

Beware! I got a parking ticket last week after having a great lunch break at the new Croxley's on Main St, Farmingdale. Watch where you park in the rear lot and make sure you are in the 3 hour spots.
