The Beer Hall Guide to Brooklyn (and Queens?)
I'm spending a little more time in the City now, so I'm starting to compile a collection of my reviews of various craft beer spots there.
Here's a list of places I've been or that are on my itinerary:
- Barcade
- Gramercy Tavern
- Lil' Frankie's
- Bierkraft (owner: Ben Granger)
- Pacific Standard
- ...

When craft beer geeks die and go to heaven, I'm sure that they won't be able to tell the difference between paradise and Beer Table.
Beer Table is probably the smallest craft beer bar I've ever visited, but size doesn't matter in this case. Beer Table has three tables which sit six people each and there are a couple of seats at "the bar". Seating is communal (it has to be in a place that size). I've been twice and the place was full both times, but my party of four had no problem squeezing in.
The owners of Beer Table seat you and will tell you about their nightly specials. There is a new menu for each night that is hand selected from (what seems to be) the extensive beer celler. Items off-menu are available to curious beer geeks. Just tell Justin or Tricia what you are looking for and they'll set you up.
The beer menu typically has a range of offerings that include pedestrian options for the neophyte all the way up to bottles priced in the hundreds of dollars. It's worth shelling out the cash for some of these more expensive items since there's no better experience than having a rare beer in rare surroundings. There are usually a couple of draft beers and a cask conditioned ale. The prices for the draft beer are in the $10 to $15 range, but these are typically your higher end/specialty beers (so don't let the price surprise you).
Don't skip this place. Go out of your way to find it. You won't regret an evening spent at Beer Table.
