My Year in Beer

A Tale of a Thousand Pints and One Pint

I oscillate between two self conceptions. One day I'm a novelist who writes about beer. On the next day I'm a beer writer who just happens to write novels. In an attempt at self-unification and to bring these two interests together I decided (perhaps it was in September 2006) to write a beer novel.

While I write this epic beer adventure, I'm collecting together here the various dispatches I write along the way. The links on the right hand sidebar will take you to these newsy morsels which have been published various places around the net.

who is donavan?

he brews beer, he drinks beer, he writes about beer. donavan lives and drinks on long island where he is a dogged pursuer and supporter of craft beer, fine pubs, and comprehensive beer stores. his favorite thing is to go on what he calls "beer adventures" where he gathers real life beer experience and then writes about it. he is a self-proclaimed beer evangelists and his forthcoming books are lovingly handcrafted to get beer lovers like you excited about craft beer and drinking locally.
